 Roel Bouwkamp (1945) studeerde filosofie en pedagogische en andragogische wetenschappen. Volgde de opleidingen voor groepstrainer, organisatieadviseur, individueel en groepstherapeut en de opleiding tot ervaringsgericht gezinstherapeut bij Walter Kempler. Door deze en door de Ned. Ver. voor Gestalttherapie erkend als therapeut, trainer en supervisor. Was 4 jaar werkzaam in het hoger beroepsonderwijs en 15 jaar als therapeut in de ambulante geestelijke gezondheidszorg. Vanaf 1980 als directeur/opleider verbonden aan het Kempler Instituut Nederland. (Mede) auteur van 10 boeken en vele artikelen op het gebied van methodiek, supervisie, gezinstherapie en kortdurende behandeling. In 1999 gepromoveerd aan de Universiteit Utrecht. Lid van de Association for Family Therapy.
